Human Rights and Essential Support Persons in Healthcare Settings During the Pandemic Crisis

Hospitals and other healthcare settings have changed their visitor policies due to the pandemic crisis. This webinar will address the rights of people with disabilities to have their essential support person(s) or caregiver(s) with them in hospitals, despite restrictive visitor policies.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Attendees will learn about:
• BC’s official policy about essential visitors to hospitals
• strategies for advocating for hospital officials to allow your support person(s) or caregiver(s) into the hospital, despite visitor restrictions
• the legal options available to people with disabilities who have been prevented from having their support person(s) or caregiver(s) with them in the hospital
